The former Real Madrid star weighed in on the reported €145 million transfer fee paid by Liverpool.
Alexander Isak’s reported €145 million move to Liverpool has certainly turned heads, and not everyone is convinced.
One of the most blunt assessments of what would be the most expensive transfer in Premier League history came from Toni Kroos. The former Real Madrid player didn’t hold back while discussing the topic with his brother, Felix, on their podcast, “Einfach mal Luppen.”
“I trust our listeners, but I would say that roughly half of them have never heard of Isak. Judge for yourselves. Seriously,” the former German international stated.
His brother Felix chimed in, referencing the striker’s time at Borussia Dortmund. “Only from his time at Borussia Dortmund,” he said. Isak joined BVB from AIK in 2017 for €8.6 million but only played 13 matches (281 minutes), scoring one goal and providing one assist.
“Dortmund, well. Not much really happened there,” Toni Kroos replied, before commenting on the massive transfer fee: “Yes, it’s a lot of money, without a doubt.”
