An English fan’s arrest and a stunning performance on the pitch marked the Three Lions’ World Cup qualifier in Belgrade.
A 27-year-old British citizen, identified as J.O., was arrested in Belgrade on Tuesday ahead of the World Cup qualifying match between Serbia and England.
According to reports from Telegraf, J.O. was taken into custody for up to 48 hours. He faces charges for the unauthorized production, possession, and use of narcotics.
Authorities reportedly discovered a bag containing a white powder, suspected to be cocaine, inside his rental vehicle. The First Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade is handling the investigation.
Meanwhile, on the field, England delivered a commanding performance, securing a resounding victory over Serbia. The British media hailed it as the “proud Albion’s” best display under manager Thomas Tuchel.
